Roughly 18 degrees above horizon, 22 off the rear. Steeper and the louvers crush; flatter and the silhouette flattens. This narrow window is where the ship reads.

Practicals, not glow
The cockpit glow is a real practical inside the geometry, not a bloom pass. It throws a faint internal bounce on the side panels — that's what sells it.
